The method

What is Conductive Education?

A holistic, learning-based approach that teaches children with motor challenges how to move, think, and do things for themselves — turning therapy goals into real, everyday ability.

Developed at the Pető Institute in Hungary, Conductive Education is built on a simple idea: movement is something children can learn. Rather than treating muscles in isolation, it works with the whole child — body, mind and motivation together.

A specially trained conductor-teacher guides each child through purposeful, active tasks — sitting, standing, reaching, stepping, dressing — broken into small, achievable steps. With repetition, encouragement and the right structure, those steps become skills the child can use anywhere.

How it works

Four principles behind every session

Learning, not just treatment

Skills your child carries into daily life, not isolated exercises.

The whole child

Movement, confidence and independence developed together.

Active participation

Children learn by doing — purposeful tasks broken into achievable steps.

Families as partners

You continue the progress at home, so steps become habits.

Every step forward starts with a conversation
